Mitch Hart
Mitch completed his six years of University training in 1986 and specialist clinical psychology registration in 1988. Since that time he has provided therapy and consultation to people with a wide array of issues such as anxiety, stress, depression, trauma, eating, relationship and alcohol/substance abuse problems. His clinical work is aimed helping people make positive and value directed changes in their lives. Mitch has worked in both the private and public mental health systems for 25 years and currently works in private practice. He also works as an external supervisor to a University Clinical Psychology program and has provided supervision to students on placement for over 20 years and collegial supervision for over 15 years.
He has completed many post graduate training workshops in standard and specialised Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy models, such as Schema Focused Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). He has worked intensively using an ACT model since 2003 and completed ACT training (with Steve Hayes, Kelly Wilson, Robyn Walser, John Forsyth, Russ Harris), facilitated ACT therapy groups and uses the model in individual and couple therapy. He is an Association for Contextual Behavioral Science (ACBS) Peer Reviewed ACT Trainer and member of the international ACT Training Community. He is regularly invited to facilitate ACT workshops for colleagues and students, facilitates an ACT interest group and ACT peer supervision group.
I am very fortunate to have an amazing wife and two beautiful daughters 15 and 17, who keep us very busy with their social life commitments! We live near the beach in Perth and love the ocean.
